Apple Announces CareKit

Apple have just announced a new open source framework to allow developers to build healthcare apps that use the 6 CareKit modules.

US National Patient Identifier Challenge

Dan Bowman, from Fierce Health IT, has an interesting opinion piece on the thorny topic of National Patient Identifiers. A recent meeting of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) launched a new ‘challenge’ to develop a private national patient identifier system.
