Oh my God. How can I be part of this amazing Brave New World.

I am 55, a lot of brain, enough to know this amazing future. Very little education in this digital world. How could I take part in it. I was trying to become a medical transcriptionist, but started following the Speech Recognition Technologies only to understan that any dedication to the field of MT would be like carving my wheels out of stone.

Should I just lay down and die.

Well, whatever is shown in this is a kind of dream for every healthinformatician. Imagine that all that technology has been created, then you need one healthinformatician or technician walking around the patient, physician and other people shown in the video to guide them use the technology. Even though EHRs have been there for several years, how many physicians are comfortable with them? You can hear about the stories of telemedicine where researchers have hard time getting the patients used to the technology. On the top of all this, to whom is this affordable? Will the insurance company pay for it? If it is affordable by Millionaires, how many of them can you find as customers and how many of them are going to be Microsoft customers? All of this technology at one point should prove that, 1. Having a technology like this will improve health, 2. Having a technology like this will reduce costs. Convenience is out of question. So, the ad should be renamed as "Future of Personal Health Dream". I bet that Microsoft has already thought about all these and prepared this to motivate people or promote Microsoft technological view, but at times this can give a wrong idea to people that it is the right thing to do to improve health.
