US Electronic Health Record Adoption: What Are The Facts?

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) just released several datasets, to include how our HIT Regional Extension Centers (RECs) are doing with the promotion and adoption of electronic health records. ONC funded the creation of 62 RECs in the United States with the goal of promoting HIT adoption, particularly among primary care physicians who practice in rural underserved areas.

Use of electronic patient records in Scotland @ nursing informatics congress 2009

The NI2009 nursing informatics congress (www.ni2009.org) has just wrapped up in Helsinki, Finland. There was an update on the Scottish progress of electronic patient records by Heather Strachan.

Scotland spends about 2.5% of NHS on ehealth. Both patients and providers provide input into content of the health records/portals and architecture is designed around multiple interfaces/sources.
