New Patient Charting Application
I ran across this forum and thought it would be a good place to introduce a new patient charting application I have developed. I am a physician in the US and I have always had an interest in certain aspects of electronic medical record programs.
A few years ago I was working at a hospital where we were still handwriting all of our notes. I tried very hard to find a program that I could take with me to work that allowed me to simply chart on my patients and print out a note. Much to my surprise, I couldn't find anything that suited my needs so I just designed it myself.
In a nutshell, FasterCharts is a portable charting application that gives the user the tools they need to create an outstanding looking note. FasterCharts' unique design allows it to run on virtually any Windows PC but without requiring an official install. No special permissions should be needed. Install it on your computer or simply place it on a memory card or USB memory device, plug it into an available PC and start charting.

Use your own default words and phrases for charting by exception.
Password protected access
Adjustable, timed, lock out
Spell Checker
Create new notes from previous notes for faster charting
Template feature that you design the way you want it
Digital signature, date and time stamp options

Create new notes using the previous patient encounter as a template
Access to the main database so you can change the default wording
Multiple chart sorting options
Text entry areas that are voice recognition compatible
