Hi,

I am Athar and I am from Pakistan.

When I was at medical school I always thought of how easy it is to link all data and each and every department in a hospital electronically but no one even care. I was unaware of such field  then but now as I know I am enrolling in to Msc Health informatics.

I am good at computers and programming from my childhood and now as I am already a medical doctor, It is best choice for me to pursue my career in health informatics.

It is nice to know about someone from Pakistan interested in Health Informatics...

Robert Reed...I've worked in a student health clinic at the University of Texas in Austin for nearly 15 years.  Mostly I've been purely IT but lately I'm making the shift to more Health IT centric job roles including working directly with the clinicians and other staff in the clinic to understand their workflow and how IT can assist with that.

Hello everyone!

My name is Jean Bouche - I am a Registered Dietitian in Green Bay, Wisconsin USA.  I work in a community hospital delivering nutrition therapy to patients - general medical, surgical and ICU.

I became interested in Health Informatics when our hospital switched to EPIC for its electronic health records.  I enjoy the learning how the electronic records can be used to improve the (nutrition) care of the patient.

I believe that there is so much more sharing that can be done, especially from the ancillary professionals to improve the service delivered, as right now I am seeing so many other facilities (nutrition departments) feeling as if they are starting from ground zero each time a facility / hospital starts implementing an electronic record.

I would like to help facilitate other professionals, especially Registered Dietitians, understand what the electronic health records can do for them; incorporate the Nutrition Care Process; improve charting;  and work across the continuum of care between the hospital, the outpatient clinics, doctors offices and public health in tracking and improving nutrition for all.

I have created a LinkedIn group called Nutrition Care in the Electronic Health Record to help facilitate this discussion.

Thank you. I look forward to the MOOC to learn and collaborate with others.

Hi everyone, I m Pharm-D, MHCA, (PhD) currently PhD student at Taipei Medical university. Currently working on Sana m-health in Africa. Nice to see you all here. Hope to get share experiences with all of you. Thanks.
