Hi Vikas,

I am interested in securing an International Degree in Health informatics .Can you suggest me an ideal school, college or university with nominal fees?Is there a possibility of getting a grant? or fellowship?
What is the scope for Health informatics in the prevailing situation?
Please suggest
Dr.Bhagyalakshmi Gopalan
Hi Bhagyalakshmi,

Nice to hear from you, and glad to know that you are also interested in this field.

Well honestly speaking I am not aware of any scholarships as such in this course ( It may be possible that, you may get sponsorship from your college/University or any hospitals ?)

You can get MSc. in Health Informatics from Australia, U.K, USA, or Newzeland and several other countries also.Fees is everywhere nearly same as such with minor variations, the difference is in the living cost according to my view.

I am doing MSc from City University London and I would suggest you to go through there website and also of some other Universities (find out by goggling ) to get some idea about the course structure, content, future prospects and than we can discuss further.

For City University the website address is

Hi Bhagyalakshmi,

I am Puspa. Informatics study can cover a wide area of topics. It would help if you asked around to find out the type of skills that would serve you well. There are many MS courses offered but the modules can differ. IMIA WG1 group has defined a set of skills but again it will depend on what you need.
There are online degrees for your convinience too.

Cheers / Puspa

please what is the current tuition fees

Thank you for this initiative

I am a M.D., PhD student. During last 13 years I practiced combining scientific aspects and achievements of Biomedical Informatics and the industrial software development methods. I think this approach is critical toward successful real solutions to solve real problems. By now it seems that there is still a huge gap between scientific departments and solution providers.

I have been
1- doing researching (EHR, Neural Networks, HL7 standard, Knowledge representation, Medical Expert Systems and Usability of EHR),
2- consultant to HIS and EHR projects (Software architecture and design and strategic planning for technology employment)
3- developing EHR applications and disease registry

Hi Dr.Abbas Shojaee,

Tremendous exposure you have got, it is indeed a definate need globally to apply and use the services what is available. But most of the people across do not have exposure and avail the services on e-health support.

What is needed is to synergise the quality healthcare that is available and make use of it both for emergency and non emergency purposes in Healthcare.

I have into healthcare over the last 12 years associated with HIS/HIMS and Telemedicine over the last 9 years worked in Apollo Hospitals,Chennai,India, Narayana Hrudayalaya,Bangalore, and presently working in Telemedicine for Satyam Healthcare.

Thanks & regards,
Kishore Reddy
