Permalink Reply by Chris Paton on October 9, 2012 at 5:19am Hi Richard, I would say that a masters is the most accepted kind of degree for career progression and would be appropriate for someone with clinical experience. If you need further IT skills then the IT degree with the HI concentration sounds reasonable. What kind of curriculum you want really depends on what kind of role you want going forward. Do you want to get involved in the technical side of things or are you more interested in administrative or business roles? Are you interested in pursuing an academic career in HI - if so, masters, then PhD might be the route to take.
There are many people in HI that don't have any specific HI qualifications but leverage clinical experience combined with HI experience. So, you might also consider just trying to get involved in some HI projects from a clinical point of view (perhaps help with an implementation as a trainer or project manager) to gain experience. A lot of recruiters seem to value experience in implementations as superior to higher qualifications without experience.
